(it did not end in tears.)
I could give you armfuls of oceans, great
mountain ranges wrapped in silver bows,
a coral reef gleaming like a sapphire chain
but you will always ask for a dormant volcano
and a star you can hold in your palm.
And I have tried to be that star, have tried to
combust bright enough, shrink small enough
but it is never enough for you. You kiss my
mouth with those carmine lips and swallow my
heartbeat with your gentle laugh and I glow
I glow and you go you go you go on stringing
me along a trail of crumbs, making me forget
that I am starving myself for your table scraps.
I could press the slats of pre-dawn light into
the days fly by
and years gather tears
well of sadness
and deep pool of fears
black the poison
paralyzing smears
fields of sorrow
plough and stars severe
to dream a dream
of promising year
long summer eve
a sky blue and clear
silhouetted
stallion on frontier
glow of sunset
o'er hills far and near
at close of day
warm glow doth appear
soft cotton sleeve
smooth silk or kashmir
on sunkissed skin
sensation revere
satisfied soul
calm spirit rest here

Have you seen my words?
Without them I am lost.
Please return them hastily,
I care not for the cost.
Have you heard my voice?
I fear I lost it too.
I've been so clumsy lately.
Oh, what am I to do?
Have you heard my voice?
I know not where it went.
I try to make a sound,
But silence supplements.
Have you seen my inner self?
I think she left me too.
Darkness has me surrounded
And I know not what to do.
She's not here to guide me,
She took my voice and words.
I'm alone with my demons
And I cannot be heard.
Have you seen my wor
